Course Description:

This course, led by journalist Gonca Şenay, introduces key concepts and professional tools for those who wish to take up careers in journalism covering politics, professional communication or related fields. It focuses on the professional and technical skills essential in managing media relations, understanding the process of journalism, and conducting effective communication in the political arena.

Week 1: Introduction to Political Journalism

Short Biography of Gonca Şenay:

Gonca Şenay is a distinguished journalist and media professional with extensive experience in political and economic reporting. She has worked with prominent media organizations, including Economist Weekly, CNN Türk, Al Jazeera Türk, Al Jazeera English, TRT World, and currentlyserves as Deputy Representative at Hürriyet Newspaper. Her expertise spans diplomacy, defense, energy strategies, and Turkey’s domestic and international political developments. With over 25 years in journalism, Gonca Şenay has built a reputation for insightful reporting, covering critical topics ranging from macroeconomics to international security.
